Sri M's London workshop on the Thirumanthiram (23 & 24 June) commended with the profound truth: “Anbe Shivam” – Love itself is the Supreme Being, and One United Humanity is at the heart of this teaching. Invoking the blessings of the masters, Sri M gently led participants into the depths of the Thirumantiram — a sacred Tamil scripture composed over 2,000 years ago by the sage Thirumoolar. This timeless spiritual classic beautifully integrates Bhakti (devotion) and Jnana (wisdom), offering a transformative path toward self-realisation. Dispelling Darkness: The Fire of Wisdom in Dakshinamurthi Stotram + Dhuni (Sacred Fire) Meditation with Sri M

This immersive session successfully advanced public understanding of spiritual philosophy and contemplative practices, as Sri M elucidated the deeper meanings of the verses, illuminating principles of non-duality (Advaita), inner stillness, and self-awareness. The session supported participants in cultivating reflection, mindfulness, and greater clarity, contributing positively to mental and emotional well-being.

The programme concluded with a Dhuni (sacred fire) meditation, introducing participants to an ancient yogic contemplative tradition in a structured and inclusive manner. This practice encouraged deep contemplation, inner purification, and heightened awareness, and was widely appreciated for its calming and transformative effect.

This was the only session within the year's programme to include the Dhuni meditation, offering the public a rare educational and experiential opportunity, which was received with great respect and gratitude by participants.

Workshop Date : 25 June 2025

Location : Hayes, London

The workshop commenced with Sri M invoking the blessings of the Masters, setting a sacred tone for the day. This was followed by the melodious Vedic chanting of the Dakshinamurthy Stotram by dedicated volunteers, creating a deeply meditative atmosphere. Throughout the day, Sri M offered a verse-by-verse exploration of this profound Sanskrit hymn composed by Adi Shankaracharya. With clarity and depth, he illuminated the subtle layers of meaning within each shloka, often sharing relatable examples and insights to help participants connect the teachings to their own lives. The Dakshinamurthy Stotram is a timeless composition in reverence to Lord Shiva in his serene and radiant form as Dakshinamurthy – the silent Guru, seated beneath the ancient banyan tree, symbolising stillness, wisdom, and the light of pure consciousness. Sri M guided participants through the deeper philosophical essence of the text – revealing how it unravels the illusions of the material world and points the seeker inward toward the Self, towards knowledge that is not learnt but awakened. The stotram becomes a mirror for self-inquiry, pointing to the formless awareness behind all experience, and ultimately, the path to liberation.
